About Frog Camp 2023
Frog Camp was ideated and conceptualized during “Renegade”, the Burning Man substitute event that happened during the Pandemic:
A Camp guided by Burning Man’s principles, where its residents immerse themselves in an environment entirely defined by art; where a culture of collaboration and radical self-expression prevails, and the sharing of ideas and thoughts is fostered.
With circus performer blood running in their veins, the creators of Frog Camp are envisioning a “Back to the Roots” approach, re-creating the environment and sharing culture associated with old-fashioned circus caravans: The location may change, but the ethos stays the same.
Led by a team of former Cirque du Soleil artists, owners of RVs were paired with artists and designers coming from multiple disciplines. In a highly interactive and collaborative effort, they set out to reimagine what a world in which everything was surrounded by art would look like. Together they planned, designed, and executed their vision in an expression of individual creativity, intertwining their creative prowess to transform each vehicle into a magnificent canvas.
Not only did they reimagine the exteriors with stunning artistry, but they also dedicated themselves to revamping the interiors, fashioning them into immersive art spaces. The Camp’s entire fleet of vehicles creates a cohesive, movable art installation, bringing color and artistic expression to wherever the Frog Camp sets up. It provides its residents and visitors with the unique experience of living within the art itself – while experiencing the wonders of a nomadic lifestyle.
This audacious undertaking provided a much-needed creative outlet for over 56 artists whose talents lay dormant during the Pandemic. With boundless enthusiasm, friends and family joined forces, turning this endeavor into a monumental art project that took a life of its own. What we witness today is the culmination of a grand collaboration, where the collective imagination of an extraordinary group of individuals breathes life into a vibrant and awe-inspiring landscape. Each RV bears witness to the harmonious fusion of diverse artistic perspectives, reminding us of the beauty that emerges when creativity knows no bounds.
Simply put, Frog Camp is about bringing color to the world and spreading happiness and smiles wherever we go.
